BLACK BEAN BURGER

A bit spicy, super tasty and an easy recipe for the whole family. If necessary, double the recipe if you are cooking for more people. Put all burgers on the table, sandwiches or rolls and various tasty toppings so that there is something for everyone. Leave the jalapeño peppers out if you really don’t like spicy!

Makes: 2 large burgers
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Equipment: Frying pan and food processor

Ingredients burger:
2 cups of black beans
1 red onion
tablespoon lime zest
teaspoon of garlic
4 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon tomato puree
4 jalapeño pepper slices
teaspoon of neutral oil
salt and pepper

Other ingredients:
Burger sandwich or roll
couple slices of cheese
mayonnaise
chipotle sauce
smashed avocado
tomato
romaine lettuce

Put all burger ingredients except the flour in the food processor and blend until you have a smooth mixture. Then add the flour and blend for a few seconds. Heat the frying pan over medium heat. If you have a non-stick pan you don’t have to add extra oil. If you have a normal frying pan, put a teaspoon of oil in the pan so that the burgers do not stick.

Make your hands a little wet before you start forming the burgers, then the mixture will stick less to your hands. Divide it into 2 parts and make it into circles. Put the shaped burgers in the pan. If you don’t feel comfortable to do it like this, simply scoop the mixture directly into the pan with a spoon from the food processor. Totally fine too! Let the burgers bake between 3 and 5 minutes each side. The last few minutes you can put a slice of cheese on the burger and the lid on the pan so that the cheese melts.

Now you can build the sandwich, all the ingredients I mentioned are of course optional. If you want to omit or add something, everything is possible, your burger and your kitchen!
