Do not be fooled by the word oats in this recipe, because it is not really healthy. Nonetheless, It’s a treat that is totally worth it.

Cooking time: 20 minutes in the refrigerator
Equipment: Frying pan, square baking pan, cooking pan and a large bowl

1 cup of butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups oats
3/4 cup dark chocolate
1/2 cup peanut butter

Melt the butter together with the sugar in the frying pan over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved completely. Add the oat flakes and fry in the butter for about 5 minutes, until the oat flakes look light brown. Occasionally stirring is important.

Put the peanut butter and chocolate together in the large bowl and put on top of the pan with a layer of water. This is called au bain-marie. You melt the chocolate together with the peanut butter, until it is all lquid. If you find this too much trouble, you can also melt the chocolate and peanut butter in a bowl in the microwave.

Put about 2/3 of the oatmeal mixture in your baking tin and press it so that it is in 1 layer. pour the choco-peanut butter sauce over it and then the last part of the oatmeal, divide this over the layer of sauce but certainly not perfect. Put the baking tin in the fridge and have a little patience, after 20 minutes it is no longer liquid, you can cut it into pieces and eat it! The bars remain well covered in the refrigerator for up to a week.
