MAC AND CHEESE GRILLED SANDWICH

If you follow a low-carb diet this is not the recipe for you;) A super nice and tasty sandwich to impress someone, or just for yourself on a hangover Sunday!

Makes: 4 or 5 sandwiches
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Equipment: Frying pan and saucepan

Ingredients:
2 1/2 cup of macaroni
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup of milk of your choice
1 1/2 cup of cheese
teaspoon of smoked paprika powder
pepper and salt
white bread, sliced
extra butter for the bread

We make this dish in 2 steps, first we make the macaroni and cheese and then the grilled sandwich part.

Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions and set it aside. Heat the frying pan over medium heat and add the butter or margarine. When this is melted, add the flour, stir well and let the flour fry in the butter for a minute. The easiest way is to use a whisk for this. Add the milk little by little while you stir. If everything is well mixed, you now have a thicker white sauce. Now add the cheese, smoked paprika powder and salt and pepper. You can turn the heat off now. The cheese melts due to the heat of the sauce. As soon as the cheese is well melted in the sauce, add the macaroni. Stir well one last time and the mac and cheese is ready!

Make sure the mac and cheese has cooled slightly before you use it in the sandwich. If you use the same pan, clean it or grab a new frying pan. Place the pan on medium heat. Take 2 slices of bread and smear one side with some butter, this will be the outside of the sandwich. Put the smeared side of the bread in the pan and put about 4 tablespoons of the macaroni on the bread and spread so that it is in an even layer. Place the other slice of bread with the side that has butter on it. Let the toast turn golden brown for a few minutes and then turn around. Fry the other side for 3 or 4 minutes and your crazy mac and cheese sandwich is ready!
